You are going to visit also Gallipoli battlefield area, so that you will have a full understanding and knowledge about the war and see the today´s standing remains. Anzac Day Tour Program : April 24th - Departure from Istanbul and Gallipoli Battlefield tour
We will meet in the early morning of April 24th by 13:00 at our centrally located office in Sultanahmet. We will depart with our air-conditioned bus to go to Gallipoli area where we will reach about 18:00 Enter the town of Eceabat where we will grab our Gallipoli goodies bag and home made pie for munching on for our drive to the service site. 19:00 Join the convoy busses for departure to the Dawn Service site where we will grab a space in the large crowd and wait, listening to the pre dawn program.
We will go ahead to Anzac Cove for taking a good spot in advance and having some rest before the ceremonies. Before you leave the bus, make sure that you take your belongings with you that you will need during the night. Our bus will be parking far from the cove but all your stuff will be kept secured and locked in the bus. As our tour does not include any accommodation, please bring your sleeping bags with you and have some warm clothes as well since the weather getting pretty cold at nights. There would be some eat&drink stores at the cove and a few portable restrooms. Our guide will be with you during the night and you will have good fun with the other Anzac Day attenders till the morning.
April 25th - Anzac Dawn Ceremony and Returning back
Eventhough the ceremonies start the previous night, the Dawn Ceremony taking place onwards 05.30 am and going until the early morning. That is the peak point of the tour and somehow the chance to feel what our ancestors lived in that land 95 years ago. We will commemorate those heroes all together and pray not to have such a war in the future again.
While waiting for your bus to transfer you to the next service you can eat breakfast on the grass with the group or feel free to tell your leader that you want to go exploring; take your breakfast-pack and walk the ridges and old trenches to the next service. Australian and/or New Zealand National services. Late afternoon brunch/lunch at restaurant back in town. Buses depart for Istanbul. There will be a stop halfway for you to buy your dinner. Bus will drop you as close to possible to your choice of accommodation in Istanbul.
