Kos, one of the most touristic places in Greece. The fact that the climate is mild most of the year, taken together with the long hours of sunshine, the vast beaches, the enormous historical interest and the attractiveness of the city of Kos have gradually raised the island to the level of an international tourist centre. The remains of the ancient city of Kos are scattered throughout the town of Kos. Other buildings include the Stoa (Colonnade), which housed Hippocrates medical school and the Bomos or Great Altar (3rd century B.C.), which was decorated with sculptures attributed to the son of Praxiteles. The most famous beaches of Kos are: Marmari, Tigaki, Kardamena, Kefalos and Mastihari.

DAY 2 - ASTYPALEA
Greek 7 Days Cruise Tour

A fine spectacle is offered by the village of Astypalea or Hora, beginning from the islets the traveller can admire before reaching the picturesque bay of the city. The wharf is at the southeast extremity. Its white houses surrounding the walls of the Byzantine fortress, on the top of the hill, and descending, so to speak, the slope, accent the beauty of Hora till the seashore. Being part of the scenery, the old mills on the height complete the imposing panorama. Within the area of the Castle fallen in ruins, where still remain, as the only mark of the Guerinis' rule, their blazons, we come across two churches: the older one of St George and the modern one of the Annunciation.

Many reasons have made this island famous worldwide. Its great wines, the international and local cuisine but most of all, the villages which are situated on cliffs and offer breathtaking view over the submerged volcano. The island also has impressive beaches with the sand of your choice: black, red or white! Santorini together with the smaller islands of Thirasia and Aspro are part of a volcanic crater, which has been engulfed by the sea. In the center are the Kammeni islands, the cones of later volcanos, which came into being in historical times. Hot springs and emissions of gas bear witness to continuing volcanic activity.

Mykonos, the most popular island of Cyclades Group, famous for the international jet set visitors and the celebrating atmosphere which is overarching the island. A very active night-life in combination with beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants. Chora, as the town of Mykonos is commonly known, casts its spell on the visitor with its beautiful position, scale and architecture. A little further, on a low hill, the windmills, having stood for centuries, compose a picture of unparalleled beauty in combination with red domes and bell towers of the countless churches. The shores form gulfs that penetrate deeply into the lands. The most important gulfs are the one of the Panormou and of Ornou.

The sacred island of Delos was, in the myths, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Today the island is uninhabited: it is a vast archaeological site whose superb monuments draw thousands of visitors in pilgrimage to what was, for a thousand years after the ninth century BC the political and religious center of the Aegean. The island bears traces of the succeeding civilizations in the Aegean world, from the 3rd millennium B.C. to the palaeochristian era. The archaeological site is exceptionally extensive and rich and conveys the image of a great cosmopol i tan Mediterranean port. From the harbor, a majestic sacred way led to the Sanctuary of Apollo, where there were temples, altars, votive offerings and other buildings.

DAY 6 - PATMOS
Greek 7 Days Cruise Tour

The "Jerusalem of the Aegean". It has a strong religious past, because it is where Saint John the Divine had his revelation and wrote the Apocalypse. Patmos used to be an important place of pilgrimage and belonged to the Church. From this unique past, the impressive Monastery of Saint John and signs prohibiting nude bathing and topless are remaining. Patmos has many beauties to offer to visitors. Above the port, there are cube like houses which spill down its flanks. Interspersed among them are minuscule churches and grand sea captains' mansions, separated from each other by narrow lanes, high walls and small squares opening onto breathcatching views over the Aegean.

Bodrum, a place where people have lived continuously for thousands of years and has an incredibly rich past. Its position in or near so many of the great civilization and events of ancient history also makes Halicarnassus (Bodrum's ancient name) an important site for historians. The night in Bodrum begins just before sunset. While lacking the view of the sunset, Bodrumites or Bodrumlu in Turkish, can witness shadows slowly ascending the whitewashed houses and surrounding hillsides as the castle takes on a glowing golden hue from the rays of the setting sun before turning an azure blue highlighted in gold as the sun sinks and the castle lights come on. One of the best places for watching this unique spectacle is in the Marina or in one of the many bars or cafes that line the harbor front. Best of all is to visit the amphitheater perched on the hillside above town. Well worth a visit in its own right, the amphitheater acquires a special ambiance at dusk, the panorama of Bodrum, harbor, castle and the Aegean beyond spread out below.

The sacred island of Delos was, in the myths, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.
